NGC 5139 - OMEGA CENTAURI The largest globular cluster in the Milky Way Galaxy! Visible only during a brief period each Spring from the southernmost United States, NGC 5139 is approximately 16,000 light years away in the constellation Centaurus. It is contains about 2 million stars and is around 200 light years in diameter.
